Who We Are

Founded in the spring of 2022 by a close-knit group of friends driven by compassion and a shared mission, the Ukraine New York Health Institute (UNYHI) is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting veterans affected by the war in Ukraine. Recognizing the urgent healthcare needs of those returning from the frontlines, the founders established the institute to serve as a vital link between Ukrainian veterans and the advanced medical infrastructure available in the United States.

Based in New York City, with offices in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kyiv, UNYHI serves as a healthcare hub, working tirelessly to coordinate medical care, rehabilitation, and prosthetic services for veterans who have suffered injuries during the war. Through a growing network of healthcare professionals, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers of the greater New York area, the institute ensures that veterans receive high-quality, specialized treatment tailored to their individual needs.

Beyond direct medical assistance, the institute provides critical logistical and emotional support, helping veterans navigate the complexities of traveling to the U.S., adjusting to new environments, and accessing life-changing care. UNYHI also serves as an advocate for the long-term well-being of Ukrainian service members, fostering partnerships between Ukrainian and American medical communities to exchange knowledge, resources, and innovations in care.
